Last Sunday, I mentioned that we’ve reached the halfway point of Lent. Wow—that doesn’t seem possible! And yet, here we are.

Did you give up something for Lent? Or take on a new practice? How is that going? I often joke that I gave up my New Year’s resolutions for Lent and then by the time Easter rolls around, I have forgotten what I gave up!

But in all seriousness, I’ve been reflecting on my own Lenten commitments. One of them has been praying for a student who wanted to grow closer to God through journaling. I created a simple journal for them with a theme, a daily scripture, three guiding questions, space for reflection, and a closing prayer.

I hope it’s making a difference for that student—I know it has made a difference in me.

I’ve also committed to unpacking the remaining boxes in my home and getting more ‘settled’. At the heart of that goal is self-care. I’ve always seen home as a sanctuary—a place to rest and recharge.

I have some hopes and plans for the space, but first I need to make room for them to take shape.

(And yes, you have permission to ask how many boxes I’ve unpacked or if I’m feeling settled, yet!)

So, how is Lent going for you? Is there something you need to unpack or something you need to make space for? I would love to hear your story.

Blessings on your journey,
Pastor Jena
