This year’s confirmation class has been a meaningful and memorable journey, and we are proud to celebrate the confirmation of 11 young people in our congregation. Since beginning together in August, this group has shown dedication, curiosity, and a willingness to grow in their faith.

Throughout the year, we shared in three retreats at Wesley Woods and one at CW, building community and deepening relationships. Our learning extended beyond our own walls as we visited and engaged with a variety of faith communities, including the Islamic Center of Ames, a Hindu temple, an Orthodox church, and Temple B’nai Jeshurun in Des Moines. These experiences helped broaden understanding and foster respect for others.

We explored the history of Christianity, the Methodist Church, and our own congregation, while also reflecting on membership vows and discovering individual spiritual gifts. Along the way, we broke bread together, played games, and served others through hands-on service projects. Each student committed to their growth by completing sermon notes, participating in worship, and engaging in service opportunities.

This group brought energy, thoughtfulness, and a genuine spirit to everything they did. It has been a joy to walk alongside them this year and witness their growth. We celebrate them and look forward to the ways they will continue to live out their faith in the life of our church and beyond.
