Our Elementary Service Trip was a wonderful weekend of service, learning, and fun! Four elementary students and four adults traveled to Des Moines to spend time serving our neighbors and growing together as a community.
During our trip, we partnered with Families Forward, where our students helped in the food pantry by sorting groceries, shelving donations, assisting clients as they shopped, and organizing clothing donations. We also spent time at Meals from the Heartland, where we packed larger meal packages that will be sent to South Africa to help nourish families in need.
We were grateful for the hospitality of Immanuel United Methodist Church in Des Moines, who provided us a place to stay and gather together. Of course, service trips are also about building relationships, so we made time for some fun and connection with a day at Adventureland!
We are so proud of our elementary students for their willingness to serve, their compassion for others, and the joy they brought to every part of the weekend. Thank you to everyone who supported this meaningful experience and helped make it possible.
