ABOUT

Who We Are

A faith community where curiosity, compassion, and
conviction come together.

We’re an open and affirming church that welcomes people from every background, identity, and walk of life.

At Collegiate/Wesley , we believe faith isn’t about having all the answers — it’s about asking our questions and walking the journey together.

Rooted in Methodist tradition and planted right next to campus, we’ve invested decades creating spaces where people can grow in faith, find belonging, and live out love in real ways.

We celebrate diversity, we practice dialogue, and we’re committed to learning, serving, and growing side by side.

OUR STORY

Collegiate/Wesley was founded in 1916 after an ISU student who had grown up Methodist told his dad, “We need a church closer to campus.” From that start we have grown and stretched across decades–and were highlighted in a 1950 profile in The Christian Century, among twelve “Great Churches of America.”  [Need link to a page for us to share some additional history.]
